Southwell CC 1st XI

With a decorated history, the Southwell Cricket Club 1st XI will be playing in the South Notts Cricket League Division C in the 2018 season. Having had a difficult year in 2017, the 1st XI still maintain a brilliant spirit and atmosphere. Led by myself and Tom Foster, we aim to have a successful season and push for promotion back into Division B.

We have a brilliant core of players, some stalwarts who have been with the club for over 30 years and others who have only recently joined us, having moved into the area or progressed through our excellent youth setup.

Winter nets at Trent Bridge have been very positive so far with excellent turn outs and the level of talent on show is very promising. With such a range of experience in the team we aim to use this to provide invaluable mentoring for the youth players progressing through. It was encouraging to see so many of the younger players breaking into the first team in the 2017 season.

So, if you would like to pick up a bat again, have recently moved into the area or are looking for a new club to challenge you, get in touch! There is no better place in the county than the picturesque Top Ground to compete for places and play cricket with such a welcoming and friendly bunch of cricketers.
