Southwell Cricket Club Junior Successes With Notts Cricket!

Southwell Cricket Club’s junior section continues to go from strength to strength.

Southwell Cricket Club’s junior section continues to go from strength to strength. We provide cricket for all ages from 4 years old. There are 5 junior teams, all run by ECB qualified coaches. This past year has been especially successful with many of our juniors selected to play representative, county cricket. Liam Waspe, William Johnson and William Rimmer all played for the Nottinghamshire MCCF Hub at u16s, getting to the semifinals of the ECB run, national competition. Connor Cherry played for the same side at u14s. Connor helped that team get all the way to the final and played in that final at the most famous ground of them all, Lords. Not many cricketers get the chance to play there but not only did Connor play, he took a wicket & hit a six!
We have provided many youngsters with the opportunity to trial for age grade, county cricket at Nottinghamshire and we are delighted to have Isobel Stephenson continuing her cricketing journey with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club at u14s. Also, following successful trials, William Rimmer has been invited to join the county u16s squad and we have Jake Batholomew and Teddy Rimmer who have been invited to join the county early engagement programme at Trent Bridge.
Congratulations to them all, these are all tremendous achievements. They are cricketers that all started with Southwell Cricket Club as very young children playing soft ball Kwik cricket and we are very proud of them.
