Farndon away this Sunday.
Last years corresponding fixture saw us win a close battle with everyone playing their part. A 99 partnership with Joe Fryer making 49 gave us a great base to score 178 and eventually win by 32 runs. This year we will have to be on top form to get anything from this game. As always their run machine Martyn Hill following a recent 130 will have to be dismissed early and we will also have to contend with the pace of Captain Lamb who is probably the fastest bowler in the Newark Alliance. Jacob Richardson also took 6 wickets last week as he finished top of the bowlers in Div 5.
We welcome the young debutant Thomas Ballentyne into the side for his first experience of adult cricket and Chris Green who also makes his first Southwell appearance. Thomas will be playing along side his U15 team mates Adam Gell and Daniel Stokes who are in good form. Sam Barber will also be looking to build on a strong performance from last week.
Holiday season has started and affected selection but people have stepped in and we now have a full team - thankyou. We still need a scorer, weather forecast is also an issue and has improved for Sunday and we should get a game. We will look to liaise with Farndon and make a decision Sunday morning if needs be. Game on!!
