Freddie Freddie Freddie - Many congratulations to Tom and Helen Foster on their new cricketer born on Friday. Young Freddie will no doubt be playing for Southwell in a few short years from now.
There are one or two thoughts of 'Flintoff' this week and we will need his inspiration to pull off a victory tomorrow. Week 4 sees us again as underdogs against Sutton Bonnington who with 2 wins are 2nd in the Div 5. We expect to face another quality opposition who are relying on established players to maintain their Sunday Cricket status.
We had strong performances against a full adult side last week where we showed signs of continued improvement. We will need further 'Flintoff' strength of character in this game. There is no reason why we can't can't improve further and possibly add this weeks 4 points to our current league 5th position.
Last weeks MOM Chris Stokes will be keen to improve on his all rounder performances this season. Three or four superb performances are usually enough to win and we welcome Richard Maloney, Sam Johnson and Sharath Ragan into the side to support our developing younger players. Adam Gell has looked sharp behind the stumps will be opening the innings with Toby Stanley. Tim Stokes will be opening the bowling with Richard Maloney in what looks like a deep bowling line up. Joe Wright will be making his second senior appearance and Dan Stokes will be looking for a wicket or two. Massive thank you to Chris Gell for stepping in at the last minute.
Umpire Steven Foster (Thanks Super Grandad) and scorer Sophie Brown. Supporters also required please. Weather forecast looks great.
