   Records fall at Top Ground, 5-Aug-2006

Runs flowed and records fell at for Southwell at Top Ground last weekend, 5th August. On a superb wicket on Saturday, Wollaton 2nd XI scored 314-3, with both openers scoring centuries. In a gripping reply Southwell finished just 2 runs short, thanks to a magnificent innings of 211 not out from Stuart Grimley. Sunday saw an opening partnership of 226 by father/son duo of Peter and Sam Johnson. Peter finished on 122 and Sam (aged 12) on 86 as Southwell posted a total of 273 against Fiskerton. Fiskerton’s reply of 106 (James Kirkham 39) meant that over 1000 runs were scored on the square over the weekend!
