Our first game of the season was at home against Belvoir. Conditions were always going to make batting very difficult indeed and they won the crucial toss. Unsurprisingly, we were asked to bat first and we only managed to score 118 for 8 in 42 overs. Tim Green and Grant McCarthy with 38 and 29 were the only batsmen to score anything significant. We had Belvoir in a spot of bother after Ted Behl took 3 early wickets and they were 6 down still requiring 45 but they steadied the ship and eventually knocked the small total off with no further loss of wickets.
